FROM OUR READERS was 29:49, Michigan State 30:11. The time of possession was not that close in the first half. The only turnover of the game was on the final play. At some point one has to concede the fact that Michigan State wins a lot of close games, often in the last stages of the games. Call it lucky or whatever you want to call it, but in the final analysis, Michi- gan State gets the win. Harbaugh said, "We have resolve, put steel in the spine and we move forward." Michigan is a better football team this year than I expected, even though I believed it would improve. Even in December 2014, when Harbaugh ac- cepted the job, I did not think that Michi- gan would be favored t o b e a t M i c h i g a n State. An almost-vic- tory does not count as a victory. It sure does whet the appetite for a real one. I relish the thought of some additional October and November victories. The coach says for the team to move forward. It is what needs to be done. Do it! Go Blue! J. Richard Jaconette, M.D. Battle Creek, Mich. Two points, Dr. J. Michigan has indeed moved forward, steel in its spine. And the Spartans demonstrated they can lose in crushing fashion at the end as well. HOLD THOSE SEATS Dear The Wolverine: On Nov. 28, as has happened in re- cent years, Michigan Stadium could be filled with red because of a Buck- eye takeover. Fans boo coaches and young men because of their performance and yet, like cowards, sell their tickets to Buck- eyes on Stubhub and don't bother to show up. They abandon their team in their time of need. Would you want your team to fight or just not show? Show the Big Ten that Michigan stands be- hind their young men and don't sell your tickets. Your team needs you. "True loyalty is that quality of service that grows under adver- sity and expands in defeat. Any street urchin can shout applause in victory, but it takes character to stand fast in defeat." — Fielding H. Yost Joe Szymczak Bowling Green, Ohio Shouldn't be a problem this year, Joe. The Game is shaping up to be more like those Michigan fans grew accustomed to for many years, with much more than pride on the line. When Michigan welcomes Ohio State to The Big House on Nov. 28, it should be another capacity crowd — with limited amounts of scarlet and gray mixed in. PHOTO BY PER KJELDSEN
