ships, first-team All-Big Ten, a CSCAA Scholar All-American and Academic All- Big Ten selection in his final campaign. The 2015 Big Ten Swimmer of the Year totaled 11 conference titles in his career. 3. Adam Coon, wrestling — An aero- space engineering major, Coon earned All-Academic honors for the third time in his career and posted a 23-3 record in 2015-16 with 17 bonus-point wins, including a team-best nine falls. Coon led the Wolverines at the NCAA Cham- pionships, earning his second straight All-America honor with a third-place finish at heavyweight. He also claimed runner-up honors at the Big Ten Championships, losing only to the eventual national champion. 4. Jourdan Lewis, football — Lewis was named a first-team All-American by Sports Illustrated and USA Today, and first-team All-Big Ten (coaches and me- dia) as a defensive back and honorable mention (media) as a kick returner. His 20 passes broken up set a new single- season program best, topping the pre- vious mark of 18 shared by Marlin Jack- son (2002) and Leon Hall (2006). He also notched two interceptions and his 31 career passes broken up are fourth most in school history. Hall is the all-time leader with 43 passes broken up in his career, but Lewis should sur- pass that this year. 5. Kyle Mueller, golf — Mueller, a U.S. Open participant, led the Wolverines in five events and earned All-Big Ten first- team and All-Big Ten Tournament hon- ors following his third-place finish at the conference championship with U-M's 54-hole Big Ten Tournament record of 209 (seven under par) May 29. With his 71.72 stokes -per-round average, Muel- ler became the first Wolverine in history to finish a season with a clip below 72. He led U-M with 13 below-par rounds, including a U-M record-tying 64 (seven under par) in the second round of the MacKenzie tournament (Oct. 12-13). — Chris Balas ning and try to pick up a part-time or consulting job, train and work at the same time." He's got the degrees for it, and he's certainly got the track pedigree. In cross country, Ferlic was a two- time USTFCCCA All-American, three- time All-Great Lakes Region pick and the 2015 NCAA Great Lakes Region Athlete of the Year. Though he arrived at the Great Lakes State from The Land of 10,000 Lakes, he leaves U-M as one of the great Michigan Men of his era. "I can't say I was a big Michigan fan growing up, but I quickly became one when I got here," he said. "My parents came from a smaller school, so there never was the big-school tradition in my family growing up. "When I got to Michigan, it was just amazing to see the depth of the fan support around the state of Michigan and from the people at Michigan. It's been awesome. Now my whole family is Michigan fans." ❏
