A Colossal Struggle
Men's hoops team needs to change direction
Photos by Tom Campbell
Through the ups and downs of
the early season, there haven't
been many times when the
Boilermakers four true freshmen have had time together on
the bench. Jay Simpson, A.J.
Hammons, Ronnie Johnson
and Rapheal Davis (from left
to right) were averaging about
66 minutes per game as of
mid-December. However, It
was learned at press time that
Simpson will miss the rest of
the season due to a recurring
foot injury.
Jacob Lawson has shown glimpses of his high-flying ability in the early
going, logging double-figure minutes in nine of Purdue's first 10 games.
Emma Painter and Emiyah Owens cheer on the sidelines during the Crossroads
Classic on Dec. 15. Their coaching fathers didn't have such a cheerful day after
the loss to Notre Dame.
