25 CHAPTER 3: METHODOLOGY This chapter describes the research methodology. Aim The aim of the study was to assess the knowledge, attitudes and practices of the street food vendors in the City of Johannesburg with regard to food hygiene and food safety. Objectives To describe the demographic characteristics of the street vendors. To describe the knowledge of street food vendors with regard to food hygiene and safety. To determine the attitudes of street food vendors toward food hygiene and safety. To identify the practices of street food vendors with regard to food hygiene and safety.
