42 Sanitation Canada - SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER 2008 Visit us on the Internet at www.sanitationcanada.com Morris Downey and Ron Underwood are pleased to an- nounce completion of the sale of Geo-Source Ltd. to Advantage Maintenance Products Ltd. Geo-Source, a long-standing master distributor of Avmor products in Alberta and western Canada, grew over the last dec- ade into a full-line "master dis- tributor" with many well-known industry brands available for re- distribution. Advantage Mainte- nance Products is a national and international manufacturer, mas- ter distributor importer and ex- porter of worldwide sourced jansan cleaning equipment and tools. The company can trace its roots back for some 12 years through the White Mop Wringer Company, Hardy Wholesale, Michael's Equipment, Cobourg Matting and Wheels Maintenance Products, to name just a few of the numerous acquisitions over the last decade. The consolidated AMP and Geo-Source businesses have made the present Geo-Source Calgary location their long-term, perma- nent address. Morris Downey will continue to be an active member of the Advantage man- agement and employee team. "Geo-Source was a good com- pany with a proud reputation and a great fit for Advantage," Underwood added. "Together the consolidated operations can add value to the supply chain in Alberta and throughout the Western Canada region, bringing a greater variety of products to the marketplace and doing so with increased economy of scale, which allows the dealer network to source products at competitive prices." Medland Sales Inc. is pleased to an- nounce the appointment of Paul Penny to territory manager for southwestern Ontario to Niagara, and Claude Bouchard, territory manager, for the Quebec region. Penny's experience and connections in the Ontario market with industrial and janitorial distributors will benefit the continued growth of the manufac- turers the company represents in On- tario. His leadership and development of Spray Nine, as vice president of sales during the past 20 years, will ensure Medland is able to meet the increasing market demands for experienced sales people. Penny will support all of the manufacturers Medland represents in Ontario and his integrity and solid business acumen is a natural fit for the company's values. Bouchard has many years of experi- ence in the sanitation industry and has been an active member of the Quebec chapter of CSSA. Most recently, he served as president of the CSSA Na- tional Board. "(Bouchard) has been working part- time with us to support Gojo in Que- bec for a couple of years," said Mat- thew Medland, company principal. "This appointment means (Bouchard) will work full-time for our company as we seek to grow our presence in the MEDLAND SALES ANNOUNCES KEY APPOINTMENTS ADVANTAGE MAINTENANCE ACQUIRES GEO-SOURCE Quebec market place."
