Kill Ref Low Frequencies, or KR/LF for short, has sorted a weighty 24 tracked techno beast. Saturn Phases may only be the fourth release from the Italian label but that hasn't stopped them from going in big. Split across three parts, the album breaks into new ground and hosts a range of sounds and styles from serious fist-clenching techno slammers to punchy electro from top producers including Oliver Deutschmann, Housemeister & Patrik Skoog. This is a quality selection of cuts geared for the floors, which is exactly why it's tunes have been picked up by huge DJs like Ben Sims & Marcel Dettmann. Get head lost in 'The Noisemaker's' swinging snares and bleeping acid in 'Smell' or the punchy kicks and hair raising effects in Dez Williams' tune 'Substaining Self'. Or just go straight in with classic 4x4 slammers like Jokasti & Nek's 'Sinusoid', DJ-309's 'Defend His Throughts' and Progression's 'Everyone Drops A Clanger'. This package of tunes has all the right ingredients for a proper techno sesh! NEW RELEASES The label, headed by Mark Knight, is a leading global player that's behind some of the biggest tracks in the clubs and festivals over the last 15 years. Sona's 'Feeling You' gets the house treatment from DJ Pioneer. Making it 15 years in music standards is like making it for a lifetime, so the guys behind Toolroom have every right to start popping open the bottles and turning up the volume. And they'll be doing that 15 times, one for each year at roadblock parties being held across the world making stops in quality locations including New York, Amsterdam and here in London. Toolroom touchdown in London at Greenwich's Studio 338 on July 14th for a hefty day/night party celebrating their rich past and toasting to the future. Taking over both the Garden and Terrace of the venue, a host of top-flight DJs join Mark Knight. Including recent Toolroom signee Danny Howard, label figurehead Weiss and modern day house pioneers Friend Within. Oh, and let's not forget the small revelation that ERICK MORILLO will also be passing through. ERICK FUCKING MORILLO! Since joining Kiss FM in 2008 DJ Pioneer has made a name for himself as a champion of the house scene, credited with introducing acts like Rudimental and Roska to the limelight. This affection for house and in particular deep house is felt keenly on the remix of Sona's hit track 'Feeling You'. The emerging afrobeats star has racked up almost 300,000 views on youtube with his hit, and a co-sign from Pioneer will no doubt boost that number. Expect to hear this remix on your night out a lot in the next couple of months. NEWS: TOOLROOM RECORDS CELEBRATES 15 YEARS WITH A SPECIAL DAY/NIGHT PARTY!
