The Wu Tang Clan celebrate their 25th anniversary with a remake of their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). According to Loud Record's Steve Rifkind the LP will feature today's current rappers, with each playing a character from the original 36 chambers. Speaking on the influential impact of the Wu Tang's seminal album Rifkind went on to add, " Where are you gonna get nine emcees that all of them can spit their ass off? The energy of the record and they weren't just like, 'You gotta do this, you gotta do that.' They broke barriers and broke ground on what they truly believed in." Unlike most albums, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) continues to stand the test of time with its timeless beats and tracks, so we can only imagine that this remake will be fyah too, just with a mod- ern twist! So far there's been no confirmation of the release date or which MC's will feature on the remake but with a major tour also in the works, keep your eyes peeled, they could be dropping the LP anytime this year. PLAYLIST CARE FOR ME Saba Die Lit Playboi Carti Konnichiwa Skepta Mona Leshurr Lady Leshurr The hip hop & rnb in our playlist this month Not3s has most definitely made his mark on the UK charts since the release of his memorable 2016 hit 'Addison Lee'. Since the success of that single he has gone on to release more tracks, including features and collaborations. Kendrick Lamar just won a Pulitzer for his latest album, DAMN. GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: NOT3S Let's first explain why it is a huge surprise. Journalism, poetry, history, biography, photography and more gave him the opportunity to get rewarded for his excellence with a Pulitzer. It is an honour to be decorated with a Pulitzer especially for a hip hop artist and no artist deserves it more than Kendrick, a rapper whose always been more engaged politically than he is socially. Not only is this an important change for hip-hop, it also puts rap on an elevated and interesting artistic level, especially for those whom may not have given it its credit. Kendrick now has the credit and attention that he deserves. Well, nearly. We're still waiting for the To Pimp A Butterfly prize, which is literally the best album of Duckworth. These include tracks like 'Bad' which featured a number of other UK artists like Yungen, Mostack and Mr Eazi, all who have equally got hits in their own right. Not3s' most recent collab was with another UK artist, relatively new to the scene, Mabel, on a remix for his song 'My Lover'. Definitely a hit, it's upbeat tempo that gets everyone in a good mood and fills the room with nothing but good and positive vibes. It's safe to say many great things are expected to come from a great talent like Not3s this year.
