The primary goal of the NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills commitment to service area is to engage the student-athlete in service to his or her campus and surrounding communities. Purdue student-athletes value the importance of giving back to the community. Through many service projects throughout the year, Purdue student-athletes show their appreciation by helping those in the Greater Lafayette area. Here are just a few of the many organizations our student-athletes were actively working for during the past year: Annual Blood Drive Boys and Girls Club College Mentors for Kids Food Finders Canned Food Drive Habitat for Humanity Haiti and South Africa Relief Leukemia Walk Military Appreciation Day Purdue Cancer Challenge Purdue Dance Marathon for Riley Childrens Hospital YWCA Domestic Violence Prevention Youth Sports Camps MAKE A GIFT JPC MEMBERSHIP EVENTS Santa Claus visited Mackey Arena prior to the holidays.
