APRIL 27, 2014 After a successful debut last spring, the Golden Pete Awards show is back for a second go-around. The artful blend of accomplishment and fun celebrates the achievements of Boilermaker student-athletes for the past 12 months. The second-annual event is scheduled for April 27, beginning at 7 p.m., at the fabulous Loeb Playhouse on campus. And, once again, it is exclusive to John Purdue Club members. In addition to presenting traditional honors like the Big Ten Medal of Honor, Distinguished Scholar Athlete Award, Varsity Walk Award and Wooden Leadership Institute Certificate of Achievement, there will be recognitions for best team and individual performances, play of the year, coach of the year, and more. Talent performances by student-athletes will be sprinkled into the festivities. Modeled after the popular ESPYS Award show, the Golden Pete Awards also serves as a senior sendoff to Purdue student-athletes and those students who are involved in behind-the-scenes roles. The Golden Pete Awards show is hosted by the John Purdue Club and the Varsity P Club. John Purdue Club members are asked to RSVP by April 14 by calling 765-494-3248 or by sending an email. Attire for the event is dressy casual. THE 2014 JPC THANK-A-THON IS HERE! Our 550 Boilermaker student-athletes will be calling John Purdue Club members from Feb. 24 to April 16 to show their appreciation for your generous support of their scholarships and academic support.
