Basketball Teams Battle Through
Whitney Bays has become a solid
and consistent performer for the
Boilermakers, primarily off the
bench, as she has shown no ill-ef-
fects from the knee injury that had
sidelined her for three of the past
four seasons.
A.J. Hammons stepped up his
play a great deal in conference
play, when he led the league in
blocked shots and was second in
rebounding through mid-Febru-
ary. He has put up big numbers
despite having a handful of
games where his playing time
was severely limited due to foul
difficulty.
KK Houser has definitely made a
conscious decision to remain an
integral part of the team following
a knee injury suffered at Michigan
State on Feb. 2. Here, she gives
a few pointers to her teammates
during the Iowa game. Houser is
scheduled for surgery to repair a
torn ACL on March 10.
