ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 25, ISSUE 3 67 f BY ALAN KARPICK AKarpick@GoldandBlack.com A ny time Mitch Daniels speaks about athletics, it qualifies as a story, especially in this magazine. And when we caught up with Daniels at the Triple XXX Family Restaurant on Nov. 21 for a segment of "Gold and Black LIVE," the 12th Boilermaker president wasn't short on opinion regarding what he sees as some of the challenges for Purdue and across the country in the world of big-time college athletics. But Daniels is quick to point out that all the money in college athletics, much of it from large television contracts, will continue to change the face of the product that fans like to devour in large quantities. Daniels calls the amount of television money infused into college sports a "truck- load" and says more will be coming. With all of Daniels' experience in government, Daniels said Congress or the courts could reshuffle the deck if things spiral too far out control.
