KERRIGAN HAVING BIG SEASON

yan Kerrigan's team hasn't
experienced much success this
season, but that hasn't kept the line-
backer from having a breakout perfor-
mance.
Through the first 14 games of the
season, the fourth-year professional
had a career-high 12.5
sacks, four more than
his previous high set
the last two years.
"I'm trying to be
more effective more
consistently," Kerri-
gan said in Novem-
ber, when he was in
West Lafayette during
Washington's bye
week.
Kerrigan, an outside linebacker for
the Redskins, has certainly done so
during the second half of the season,
having at least one sack in four con-
secutive games from Week 12 to Week
15. Within that stretch, he had two
against St. Louis, while also forcing a
fumble, one of his four this season.
But it wasn't his best outing of
the year; in Week 2, the 6-foot-4,
260-pounder had four sacks in a win

Through the first 14 games of the 2014 season, Ryan Kerrigan has a career-high
12.5 sacks for the Redskins. It gives him 37 sacks in his first 62 NFL games, the
fifth-highest mark in Washington history, just ahead of former Boilermaker Dave
Butz (35.5).
