How long has the night been going? The night started March last year. We are now 15 events deep and not far away from our first birthday on March 4th! Who is behind the night? The night is run by Dj Bailey & Need for Mirrors, who are both residents of the night. How would you describe the music policy? All styles of drum & bass but in moderation, more on the deeper soulful vibe, head music with no Mc's. We let the music do the talking. The night has been influenced by older d&b nights like Blue Note, Swerve & Movement, but this is for a new generation and has its own vibe. What is the crowd like? The crowd is a nice mix of like-minded individuals from all walks of life, ie. Tourists, retail & intercity workers, students, ravers, junglists, musicians and artists all coming together to listen and dance and get schooled on the latest drum & bass. What kind of artists do you book? We book Djs who can hold their own and take you on a journey. We usually have a mix of some of the relevant older djs and new school guys who are making a name for themselves with their productions. People like Doc Scott, Break, Fabio, DLR, Goldie, Bryan G, Klute, Technimatic and LSB to name but a few. What have we got to look forward to? Coming up on Wednesday Jan 21st we have our first event of the year with guests including Break, Artificial intelligence & DBR UK. Magnificent venue.. The Basement at Edition Hotel is one of London's best venues and best-kept secrets in underground dance music. It was only fitting that this style of night had the right environment and venue to be its home. The club also has the best staff and an amazing sound system so we are spoilt to have such a great venue in the UK for our night. What would you say to a drum and bass head that hasn't been to Soul in Motion?
