40 Issue 71/ 2015 REGGAE / DANCE HALL guestlist.net Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare are reggae legends, the duo are award winning producers and musicians. They are the men behind the men. They have worked with everyone from The Mighty Diamonds, Dennis Brown and Peter Tosh to Britney Spears, Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan. All of the reggae greats have worked with Sly & Robbie and they have some classics under their belt including the smash hit 'Murder She Wrote' by Chaka Demus and Pliers. Having won a Grammy in 1999, and receiving their 11th Grammy nomination last year Sly & Robbie continue to put their spin on projects, the latest being their collaboration with Jamaican quartet No Maddz. In the past few years, Stylo G has been one to watch as he has been making waves in the world of reggae music. You may recognise him from his single "Soundbwoy", which was released in 2013 and secured a place in the UK Top 20. Last year, he collaborated with Clean Bandit on "Come Over", as well as partnering with Dillon Francis, Basement Jaxx and Major Lazer on other projects. His growing list of collaborations also includes Wretch 32, Chipmunk and fellow dancehall star Gyptian. He was also nominated for the Best Reggae Act category at the 2014 MOBO Awards. Today Stylo G is at the top of the Beatport reggae and dub charts, and his song "Call Mi A Leader" also leads this month's playlist for the genre. The young Jamaican artist is just getting started, and with his recent surge in success, his future looks brighter than ever. Love Kulture Project have steadily built a well- respected reputation, having hosted some of the best reggae and dub Bass Culture parties at this reggae loving venue last year. The are back once again with another unmissable line- up that will spread out accross both rooms. It is a truly multi-cultural affair, with our Scottish friends Mungo's HiFi, Dreadsquad from Poland, and our own Gardna taking over the mic. Room 2 enjoys a feminine touch, hosting Sunday Lion b2b Matchette, Maekha, Miss Polly and Dj Garlic Tits ft Bahia. A hot line-up to warm you up and wave goodbye to the cold winter months!
