GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 20 • 2 physicality, Purdue signed a pair of 6-foot- 4, 200-some-pound junior college wide re- ceivers in Domonique Young and the already enrolled Anthony Mahoungou. They'll be needed to contribute immedi- ately for an offense whose passing game fell apart last season after Danny Anthrop got hurt. Purdue has immediate opportunities at running back and tight end, positions decimated by graduation, and re- cruited this class with those openings largely in mind. Did Purdue find players who can make an impact in the near term? That remains to be seen, but it will be the hope, especially at running back, where Jones, Tario Fuller and Richard Worship are the opposite of departed backs Akeem Hunt and Raheem Mostert, whose speed the Boilermaker of- fense was built so much around in 2015. "Any time you can get some backs that can make yards after contact, you should do it, and these three guys can," Ha- zell said. "They're all different players. But any time you can get guys who can break an arm tackle and a four-yard play turns into a 12-yard play, you love that characteristic." Defensively, physicality was either again an emphasis, or just how it worked out. Purdue believes it found size and athleticism in the sec- ondary with Evyn Cooper, David Rose and Mike Little and toughness with safety Andy Chelf, with bolstering the front seven with three of its top targets at linebacker in Markus Bailey, Wyatt Cook and Sawyer Dawson and a de- fensive tackle, Eddy Wilson, who goes down as one of its premier signees. Purdue is still awaiting word from high school defensive end Chazmyn Turner, who committed to Purdue but didn't sign on the signing date while continuing to look at West Virginia. 1600 South Creasy Lane Lafayette, IN 47905 1-866-906-6223 www.BobRohrmanSubaru.com Bob Rohrman Subaru Buy a Subaru and Keep Indiana Driving.
