Vince Edwards has the ball knocked
loose by a Gopher, not for the last time
in the game. The Boilermakers were
challenged to operate with the Gophers
defense forcing 23 turnovers, the most
ever by a Matt Painter team in a Big Ten
game.

Raphael Davis was on a
tear during a five-game
swing through the Ohio
State game, averaging 18.4
points during the streak.
Against Ohio State, he
gave the Boilermakers a
little breathing room with
a layup that gave Purdue
a 57-51 lead in the closing
minute. And as it turned
out, the home team needed
every point to secure the
win.

Despite the Boilermakers' impres-
sive comeback, it was a 21-2 run in
the opening minutes of the second
half that allowed the Gophers to
pull out the victory. Jon Octeus is
called for a block as Carlos Morris
goes to the basket. Morris had two
steals and nailed four free throws
during the early stages of the
Gophers' run.

Under the watchful eye of
Painter, A.J. Hammons makes
an athletic move to save the
ball during a wild flurry in the
closing minutes of the win over
Ohio State. Ultimately the ball
was turned over to the Buckeyes
but the extra couple seconds of
possession came in handy when
the visitors were pressed for
time on the game's final play.
