COMMITMENT PROFILE he needed to hear from Coach Har- baugh and his parents. I think he just felt like it was right and decided to do it now. He's done with the process now and can focus on other things." As for the rest of the 2016 class and the roster of current Wolverines, Har- baugh is creating an intense environ- ment with an abundance of competi- tion, especially at the quarterback position. Peters talked about that with Michigan's head coach, but it did not deter him at all when it came to making his commitment. "He just said that he has a pretty good vision for me," Peters said of Harbaugh. "He has a good feeling about me and what I can do. He says that I'll be able to compete early for a starting job. I'm not afraid to com- pete either. It's just a perfect situation even though there might be a ton of quarterbacks there right now. I think that I'll be able to come in and com- pete just like everyone else." Looking ahead, Peters is now the centerpiece of the 2016 class and someone that Harbaugh can build around. The quarterback is the leader of the team and has the potential to be a strong recruiter. Peters has a laid back personality, but he has discussed his attack plan moving forward. "I'm willing to recruit guys," Pe- ters said. "I talked to Coach Fisch about that. I plan to reach out to a couple of receivers, but I haven't re- ally done anything with that yet. "The only person I really talked to is [Farmington, Mich., wide receiver] Desmond Fitzpatrick. He was at the spring game, so I had a chance to talk with him a little bit. Coach Fisch also mentioned [Detroit wideout] Donnie Corley, too. I'd like to have him." — Brandon Brown FILM EVALUATION Strengths: Peters is a tall, lean pocket passer with the arm strength to make all the throws. He has nice touch and can throw a deep ball, and shows accuracy on shor ter passes as well. He is also a plus ath- lete for the position: he isn't Denard Robinson with the ball in his hands, but has the mobility to move the chains with his feet or keep plays alive. Areas Of Improvement: Peters is slight at 6-4 and just 195 pounds, and will have to bulk up to succeed at the next level. Adding muscle mass will make him more difficult for defenders to tackle and will im- prove velocity on his throws. He also needs experience against higher levels of competition, which he will receive in college. Michigan Player Comparison — Jim Harbaugh (1982-86): If Har- baugh is looking for a player who's a spitting image of himself to lead the Michigan offense, he's found his man in Peters. A pocket passer with added mobility calls to mind few U-M quarterbacks in recent history (more have been true runners or true passers). Like Harbaugh, Peters is a gamer who is at his best when the lights come on. — Analysis from TheWolverine.com
