NEBRASKA GAME VISITORS
Purdue got its No. 1 recruiting priority back
on campus for the second time this Big Ten season
Sunday, when Fort Wayne five-star senior big man
Caleb Swanigan made a return visit to West Lafay-
ette for the Nebraska game.
Swanigan, maybe the most sought-after un-
signed Class of 2015 recruit in the country, previ-
ously visited Purdue for the Big Ten opener against
Minnesota on New Year's Eve.
Matt Painter and his staff have made the Home-
stead star their absolute priority in recruiting, hop-
ing to add the McDonald's All-American to next sea-
son's roster.
So have a lot of other programs, though.
Among others perceived to be among leading
contenders for the 6-foot-9, 260-pounder are Michi-
gan State, Kentucky and Duke, all of which have
been very active in visiting him in Fort Wayne and all of which
have had him on their campus for recruiting visits.
Rivals.com ranks Swanigan 16th nationally in the 2015
class.
He was the biggest name on a Sunday in which Purdue
had other high-end targets in its building.
Seth Towns, a 6-7 Class of 2016 small forward from Co-
lumbus (Ohio) Northland, made his first visit to Purdue after
being offered in the fall.
Ohio State, Michigan, Xavier and Iowa are among his
other early offers.
Towns is ranked 124th in the junior class by Rivals.com.
Also from Columbus, 2016 power forward Nick Ward of
Gahanna (Ohio) Lincoln made a return visit to West Lafayette
after he previously visited in the summer for Purdue's elite
camp — where he was offered a scholarship, then again in
the fall for a football weekend.
The versatile 6-7, 230-pound Ward has been offered by
