But this is no landlubbing nightclub, as it floats on a wooden pontoon on top of the water. This movement towards a life-aquatic is what makes the club unique. DRINK As you would expect one of the world's most Karlovy Lazne has so many facets, it is hard to pin down what it represents in one sweeping statement. The clientele is so varied, the DJs are insanely talented, and the labyrinth of staircases, bars and dance floors keeps you in a state of perpetual motion. fashionable and prestigious nightclubs, the drinks menu is out of this world, with a stunning array of house cocktails and tasty German weissbiers. Quality is paramount, and all drinks are very reasonably priced as is in the rest of Germany. VIBES In terms of pure innovation and eclecticism, no other club in the world can compete with Watergate. Its ability to draw the biggest DJs, coupled with its amazing sound system and acoustics, make every party here a visceral assault on the eyes and ears. The Watergate team are devoted to the underground sounds of drum n bass and minimal techno. This is why we love them. FIRE: IN SESSION Situated just a few minutes away from your very own Guestlist Network, Rough Trade has, over the decades, brought about the most iconic indie artists. Autumn is coming and that means it's time to turn up the heat and hit up some of the banging events that Fire: In Session has in store for us over the next few months Every Saturday from September 15th until November 24th, Vauxall's Fire nightclub will be showering us with a host of world renowned club promoters including Bugged Out, RWD and Simian Mobile Disco Live, to name a few. Not to mention the overload of incredible DJs such as Vitalic, John Digweed and Boy Better Know, and they're not stopping there! Things have got so sizzling in preparation for the launch that they've gone and added a second wave of artists. This includes Rebuild Live Acid Jam feat. A Guy Called Gerald & Graham Massey (808 State), Etienne De Crecy, Erol Alkan and Kyle Hall Krankbrother, among many others, as well as another 'Bugged Out' party on September 29th to coincide with Erol Alkan' Another Bugged Out Mix. It's almost too much to handle...I know where I'm gonna be spending my Saturday nights for a while! Established way back in 1978 as the product of a record shop set up by Geoff Travis in West London, the label went on to sign legendary punk band The Buzzcocks. It was in 1983 however that Rough Trade began the first of many colossal contributions to the indie world when it signed The Smiths. During this time the label also started distribution of fanzines No Cure. The company collapsed in the early nineties due to bankruptcy, but like the proverbial phoenix reborn from the ashes, Rough Trade returned and its artists in the early 2000's can be seen to be single handedly responsible for restarting guitar music in the charts, as well as the indie scene within Britain, with The Strokes and The Libertines being the main culprits. The success of these bands saw a revitalised label which since then has continued to bring the very cutting edge of indie acts. Amongst their impressive roster of artists are: Arcade Fire, Howler, Mystery Jets, Belle and Sebastian and Super Furry Animals. Any label who signs the likes of The Libertines, The Strokes and The Smiths deserve recognition in my book, so here's to you Rough Trade; keep up the good work and don't go bankrupt again.
