REGAINING THE TITLE Tyler Lynn Tops Pro Moto Unlimited Field By Mike Vieira Photos by Get Some Photo Tyler Lynn and the 1X Slam Life Racing Honda team continued their winning ways to start the 2026 season, with a SCORE Pro Moto Unlimited class win at the King Shocks 39th SCORE San Felipe 250. The team started third off the line with Lynn on the bike first, and by Mile 40, he had come into the lead in class. “I finally got out of the dust and then was just sort of able to put it on cruise control and just ride the rest of my section,” he said. Lynn rode 150 miles and created about a two-and-half minute lead before handing the Honda CRF450X over to Carter Klein. The team had to endure a longer than usual pit stop, due to the wrong sized sprocket on a replacement wheel, which led to having to retighten the chain. Klein was able to get going again while still in first place. The 15X team, however, passed them shortly thereafter, during Carter’s ride to Mile 220. SLR’s newest rider, Sam Pretscherer took over at that point and was able to regain first place and hold it to the finish, despite a minor spill. It was Sam’s first race in Baja, and Tyler says, “He came from a minute-and-a-half back, and finished with a ten-minute lead, so that was a super good ride by him, and we’re super excited to have him on the team this year helping us out.” • Lynn during SCORE Contingency When talking about the course, Tyler says, “I feel like San Felipe is kind of a love/hate thing. You love it and you hate it at the same time. It’s super rough, it’s hard with a lot of hidden rocks, but it also makes it fun to ride, as well.” and overall he continues, “Our race plan was very good, and everyone executed their jobs perfectly.” Looking forward, he says, “We’re going to work hard for the 500. Obviously the 250 did end up going our way, but the other teams definitely showed up, and definitely showed us we need to be on our “A” game. We’re all back here at home working harder, getting fitter, and getting ourselves better. We’re all excited.” Once again for 2026, it looks like the Slam Life Racing team is going to be the one to catch in the Pro Moto Unlimited Class. SJ
