Molinar Achieves His Dream in Baja The Chihuahua Rider Overcomes Injury To Win By Gabriel García Photos by Get Some Photo Marco Molinar is a man who never stops chasing his dreams, and he proved it once again by overcoming a serious injury suffered two years ago to win the 39th running of the King Shocks 39th SCORE San Felipe 250 in the Pro Moto Ironman class. A native of Nuevo Casas Grandes, Mexico, Molinar said he spent a full year preparing for the San Felipe 250, a journey that culminated in victory aboard his No. 788x Honda CRF450X MM Motorsports. Molinar endured 7 hours, 23 minutes and 4 seconds of highs and lows along the 281.5-mile race course, never wavering in his pursuit of victory with the support of his family and friends. “Two years ago I broke my knee, and then my sternum at mile 80. I kept going for another 80 miles until the pain forced me out of the race in San Felipe,” Molinar said. “After that, it was about continuing to chase my dreams. It took a lot of preparation, but I never gave up.” A phrase Molinar often keeps in mind is: “Why do we fall in life? To learn how to get back up.” That mindset helped carry him to victory in the SCORE San Felipe 250, supported by family and friends not only in the pits, but throughout different sections of the course, which started and finished along the San Felipe Malecon. Throughout SCORE International history, riders from the state of Chihuahua — including Cesar Fuentes — have reached victory lane. Now, Molinar joins that select group and has his sights set on more success in the 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship. A VICTORY FOR HIS PEOPLE Molinar expressed gratitude for the support he received from the people of Nuevo Casas Grandes and sponsors from his home state. “Many people helped me achieve this dream. There were moments on the course when I was close to giving up, but I thought about them,” Molinar said. “I remembered all the sacrifices I made to get to San Felipe, and that pushed me to keep going.” “It wasn’t just about winning or the sacrifices. There’s a whole support team behind me, and they deserve this victory too. Honestly, this is thanks to them as well,” he added. Molinar is now focused on the upcoming SCORE Baja 500 in June, but for now is taking time to be with his family following a well-earned victory in San Felipe. “I’m always looking ahead and setting new goals. It’s not that I don’t have plans — I’m always open to any possibility,” Molinar said. SJ
