WORTH THE EFFORT Jason Miller Tops the Pro Moto 40 Field By Mike Vieira Photos by Get Some Photo jason Miller notched a win in the King Shocks 39th SCORE San Felipe 250 despite having had a bad crash two weeks before the race that left him with a concussion and a dislocated hip. He was pretty limited in what he could do in the race, but being the rider of record for the team, he had to make the effort. Although he wished he could have done more, he was able to bring the bike off the start line and to the edge of town, at which point he handed it off to Shane Esposito. He then took it to Eric Magana, who rode his stretch, then handed the Honda CRF450X off to Jim O’Neal. After O’Neal’s ride, Shane got back on for another stint before handing things over to Francisco Septien to take it to the finish with more than a two-hour class lead. Over the rough San Felipe course, the Honda ran perfectly for the team, and Jason praised Bob Young’s construction of the race machine, saying, “San Diego Powerhouse built the bike, and we’re on a good piece of equipment. That’s a big part of that race. We have a great, solid team and a good group supporting us through the race. It was a good, all-around race, with no major problems, no get-offs, and nobody had any crashes or mechanical issues. Everything went really well for us.” After sweeping their class in SCORE’s 2025 season, the 400X team now has two new Hondas for 2026. They plan to alternate them, using one for the Baja 500 and 1000, and the San Felipe winner in the Baja 400. Jason is still recovering from his crash, but he’s eager for the upcoming Baja 500 and plans to ride his full stint, as well as for the rest of the year. The team is off to a great start as they aim to repeat their successes from the past SCORE seasons.
