Meg Erickson and Marie McInnes found they had an affinity for rescuing carriage houses, they came to the right neigh- borhood. It just so happens that the North Shore has an abundance of old stables and carriage houses begging to be restored. The duo was just winding up their second carriage house project (which Erickson ended up adopt- ing as her own home) when Erickson stumbled upon a particularly well-situated but needy candidate in Beverly Farms. With the original horse stalls and carriage space on the first floor and an apartment previously renovated in the 1970s on the second floor, the configuration gave the team plenty of recyclable components to support a project that would incorporate significant elements pointing to the structure's past. Meg Erickson and Marie McInnes renovate old stables and carriage houses into homes. W H E N 48
