The longtime Cowboys' linebacker is playing defensive end now, with Dallas shifting from a 3-4 defensive alignment to a 4-3. But the transition — Spencer, of course, played D-end during his career at Purdue — hasn't been easy, due largely to injury. Spencer had surgery on his knee in late July and has missed most of the Cowboys' offseason workouts. He's still expected out of action a couple more weeks, hoping to be ready to go by Dallas' final preseason game or the season opener in early September vs. the Giants. "I'm just focused on getting healthy," Spencer told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I still can't do a lot of running around and stuff, the stuff that I want to do, so I don't feel very encouraged right now. I've still got a little bit of time, so I'm working on getting healthy." And he receives recognition for that, too. Following the suspension of 13 baseball players in the Biogenesis investigation, with the players alleged to have used performance enhancing drugs, Fox News put together a list of "idols who will (probably) never let us down." Brees was included in the 13, among others such as actresses Emma Watson and Dakota Fanning and artists such as Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson. Brees was one of four athletes on the list with golfer Rickie Fowler, NBA guard Jeremy Lin and fellow quarterback Tim Tebow. About Brees, FoxNews.com said: "The 2009 Super Bowl MVP-winning quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, Drew Brees is known for his community ties, as well as his touchdowns. Ever active in the community, he and his wife established the Brees Dream Foundation in 2003.
