Boilers Honored At BAnquet Camille Redmon and Hayden Hamby were named the "Most Im- proved" players at Purdue's post- season banquet on April 1. The Boilermakers celebrated their season, which included a 22-9 record and second-round NCAA Tournament appearance. Purdue did so through several obstacles, including the loss of senior point guard KK Houser. "We knew we had great lead- ership, and that was the key to our success," Versyp said. "We had a leader go down, which is sad, especially being a senior. But you see how your team responds." The "Perseverance" Award went to Whitney Bays, who over- came multiple knee injuries to became one of Purdue's best players and the Big Ten's Sixth- Player-of-the-Year. The "Coaches" Award went to Liza Clemons. The three memorial awards were given to the Boilermakers' three seniors. The "Ruth Jones Memorial" went to Dee Dee Wil- liams; the "Roger Blalock Memo- rial" to Courtney Moses; and the "Tom Reiter Memorial" — a new award this season, named after the longtime administrator and assistant coach who died in Janu- ary — to Houser, for the pride she has shown in Purdue.
