April Wilson 25
G • 5-7 • Jr.
Wilson had a rough out-
ing against Minnesota, as
her slow retreats in transi-
tion defense were part of
the reason the Gophers
were able to control the
tempo. But she bounced
back big against Indiana,
setting the pace to Pur-
due's liking and having
seven assists against four turnovers — the
Boilermakers had only eight total — with
10 points. She can spark Purdue defensively,
but has to want to do so consistently.
Ashley Morrissette 1
G • 5-9 • So.
Morrissette might be
starting to find some
consistency, having
scored in double figures
in consecutive games
while hitting 12 of her 26
shots from the floor. And
that includes five three-
pointers; she has to hit
from distance, as Purdue
needs a consistent shooter from there to
help keep defenses honest. If she can, it'd go
a long way toward improving the Boilermak-
ers' overall offense.
Bridget Perry 13
F • 6-2 • So.
In many ways, the Boiler-
makers go as Perry goes.
When the tall wing is able
to penetrate to the basket,
scoring herself or dishing
off, it opens opportunities.
And it gives the Boiler-
makers an extra scorer
— and someone else
for opponents to worry
about — with Morrissette and Whitney Bays.
Occasionally, too, she can step out to hit a
three, a developing part of her game.
Liza Clemons 23
F • 6-2 • Sr.
Clemons' numbers don't
jump out, but she's a
critical defender in the
middle. The senior is
willing to mix it up with
opposing posts, even
when they're significantly
bigger. But it's when she's
not only defending, but
rebounding — like her 14
vs. Illinois — then she's at her best. Clemons
isn't shooting as well as she has in the past,
either in the paint or from 10 feet; she's ca-
pable of both.
Whitney Bays 32
F • 6-2 • Sr. (5)
Bays has been outstand-
ing, with a Purdue record
of five consecutive
double-doubles. In that
span, she's averaged 16.6
points and more than 11
rebounds per game; her
shooting percentage,
mired in the high 30s, for
much of the preseason, is
near 50 percent during that span. She was
an impossible matchup for Indiana's big, due
to her quickness and athleticism in the paint.

The
Starters
Hayden Hamby 10
G • 5-7 • Jr.
Hamby's not been able
to get her offense going
recently, being shut out
in two of three Big Ten
games, while hitting
only two of her last 10
field goal attempts. She's
not hit a three-pointer
since before Christmas.
The junior was a slasher-
scorer in high school, not necessarily a
three-point specialist, and that hasn't con-
verted to Purdue.
Bree Horrocks 22
C • 6-5 • Fr.
Horrocks is playing mini-
mally, when the match-
ups are favorable. They
were vs. Indiana, as she
could body-up against
other bigs, and she had
four points and four
rebounds in 12 minutes
off the bench. To be
more effective, however,
she needs to be quicker, as the movements
inside are labored. And her confidence has
waned at times.
Andreona Keys 24
5-10 • G • Fr.
Although her scoring is
up and down, Keys looks
and plays like a veteran,
picking her spots and
making very few mis-
takes. Indiana was an
example: She had five
points, three rebounds,
a steal and an assist in 15
minutes off the bench.
And also only one turnover. It was her best
game of the Big Ten season.
Torrie Thornton 4
F • 6-0 • Jr.
Thornton was outstand-
ing in the loss to Min-
nesota, putting together
probably her best game
as a Boilermaker,
scoring a career-high
nine points, with six
rebounds, three steals, a
block and an assist in 16
minutes off the bench.
She might not have that big an impact
every game, but can do multiple things to
help the Boilermakers.
