Purdue heads to Minneapolis
this weekend for the Big Ten Tri-
ple Duals with No. 23 Minnesota
and Northwestern before it has
two weeks off before the Big Ten
Championships.
"I think our guys are in a good
place right now," Ross said. "We
haven't beat Minnesota in a while
and they were ahead of us last
year at Big Tens. We know they're
one of the teams we have to go
through."

ics 2015 Hall of Fame class includes
an administrator and standouts
from track and field, softball and
swimming.
Yvonne (Netterville) Carter was
Purdue's track and field team MVP
in 1985 and 1986 and Purdue's Fe-
male Athlete-of-the-Year in 1985.
Her decorated career included six
Big Ten titles — three in the high
jump and three in the triple jump —
and NCAA All-America honors for
the triple jump in the 1984 outdoor
and 1985 indoor seasons.
Andrea Hillsey was one of the
best players in Purdue softball his-
tory. The middle infielder was be-
stowed with NFCA All-America
honors in 2003 after setting Purdue
records for batting average (.454),
walks (40) and on-base percent-
age (.563). The

winner still holds

for career on-
base percentage
(.487) and walks
(116). Hillsey
won the Big Ten
Medal of Honor in 2005.
Swimmer Vilmos Kovacs was a
four-time Purdue Male Athlete-of-
the-Month and Big Ten Male Ath-
lete-of-the-Month for his accom-
plishments in the breaststroke in
the late 1990s. Kovacs won four Big
Ten individual titles and earned All-
America recognition in the 100- and
200-meter breaststrokes in 1996
and 1997 and honorable mention
in the 200 in 1998. His performance
at the 1997 NCAA Championships
boosted Purdue to a team finish of

, its highest since 1957.
Robert Woodworth was a stal-
wart in Purdue's athletic depart-
ment through the 1960s, serving
as publicity director and sports
information director for 36 years
(1928-1964) and acting athletics
director in Noble Kizer's absence.
Woodworth's efforts were felt on a
national level as well as he helped
found the College Sports Informa-
tion Directors Association (CoSida)
and was elected to its Hall of Fame
in 1968. The previous Ross-Ade
Stadium press box was named in
Woodworth's honor. A 1926 Purdue
graduate, Woodworth died in 1964.
