The Mollenkopf/Keyes Classic honors Purdue Hall of Fame head football coach Jack Mollenkopf and All-American
Leroy Keyes. As the Boilermakers' legendary coach, Mollenkopf took Purdue to the 1967 Rose Bowl, produced 14
All-Americans and sent numerous players into the professional ranks.
Known as one of "Jack's Boys," Keyes played for Mollenkopf from 1966 to 1968. Keyes became the first player in
Purdue history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season and was a consensus All-American in both 1967 and
1968, finishing third and second in the Heisman Trophy balloting.
The Mollenkopf/Keyes Classic pays homage to a pair of Purdue's all-time greats and raises funds for student-athlete
scholarships.
