Sophomore April Wilson has brought defensive pressure to the Boilermaker backcourt, and as been a steady presence in her first full season as the primary point guard. The Boilermakers had to deal with tragedy again, as Liza Clemons' fiance Jay Upshaw was killed in Fort Wayne on Oct. 4. The team is honoring Upshaw by wearing royal blue shoelaces throughout the season. 74 IllustrateD volume 24, issue 3 Coach Sharon Versyp has had to manage a team with a blend of experience and youth and has watched her team improve throughout the nonconference slate. f
