Hammons averaged 7.3 re- bounds and a Big Ten-leading 2.8 blocked shots per game, making him far and away the conference's most influential rim protector and one of college basketball's best. Beyond that, Hammons' im- provement as an all-around defen- sive player was crucial in Purdue suddenly emerging as one of the conference's best defensive teams. Hammons becomes Purdue's first All-Big Ten pick since Terone Johnson was named to the third team in 2013. Davis and senior point guard Jon Octeus were named honorable mention All-Big Ten, meaning they each received at least one vote for all-conference honors.
