BIG TEN IN TOURNEY
Although Purdue won't
be in the NCAA Tournament's
Field of 68, the Big Ten is ex-
pected to get seven teams in
the Big Dance.
The bracket will be an-
nounced at 8 p.m. Monday night
on ESPN. Bracketologist Charlie
Creme has Maryland as a No. 1
seed in the
Spokane Re-
gional; Iowa
as a No. 3
seed; Ohio
State at No. 5;
Northwestern
at No. 7; Rut-
gers and Min-
nesota at No.
8; Nebraska
as a 10. Only
M i c h i g a n
might qualify
as a bubble
team, but the
Wolverines'
résumé is too
weak to get
in the field.
Creme has
the Wolver
-
ines among
his "Next Four
Out" after his
"First Four
Out."
Purdue finished its season 11-
20, only 3-15 in the Big Ten. It's the
first season the Boilermakers haven't
played in a tournament since 1992-93.
LOOKING FOR HELP
Versyp is looking for immediate
help for next year's roster, looking
for either a fifth-year transfer or a
junior college player.
Purdue needs depth — and ex-
perience — at the 4 position.
With Bodnar's departure —
Versyp says she does not expect
any additional transfers — the Boil-
ermakers are expected to have 13
scholarship players next season.
"We're looking right now, but
they have to come in and make an
immediate impact," the ninth-year
coach said. "We're not going to look
for someone just to look because
we don't have to. We're comfortable
with who we have."
An option is Colorado forward
Arielle Roberson, who missed last
season with a torn ACL. The former
Big 12 Freshman-of-the-Year is a
graduate-transfer possibility this
summer. j
