Regional Parameters RP002-1.0.5 ©2022-2025 LoRa Alliance ® Page 11 of 116 The authors reserve the right to change specifications without notice. 2 Introduction 385 386 This document describes the LoRaWAN regional parameters for different regulatory regions 387 worldwide. This document is a companion document to the various versions of the LoRaWAN 388 MAC Layer Protocol Specification [TS001]. Separating the regional parameters from the 389 protocol specification allows addition of new regions to the former document without impacting 390 the latter document. 391 392 NOTICE: LoRa Alliance provides all information herein in its capacity 393 as a stakeholder in the promotion and adoption of secure, carrier-grade 394 IoT LPWAN connectivity, and in the context of LoRa Alliance's 395 LoRaWAN standard. This information does not constitute technical or 396 legal advice and should not be relied upon to determine regulatory 397 compliance in any given jurisdiction. Each user of the information is 398 responsible for its use of the information, including the need to verify 399 current information and its applicability to the user. 400 401 402 The goal of the LoRa Alliance Regional Parameters Working Group is to allow the adoption of 403 the LoRaWAN technology across as many regions of the world as possible. It is to the benefit 404 of the entire eco-system to minimize the number of distinct channel plan definitions. By re- 405 using existing channel plans for regulatory regions that are newly adopting LoRaWAN, the 406 overall effort and the time required for products to be available in the new market is minimized. 407 The Regional Parameters Working Group welcomes and encourages collaboration with local 408 companies and regulators when LoRaWAN is considered for introduction to a new region. 409 410 This document defines regional parameters described in all LoRaWAN Link Layer 411 Specifications published prior to the publication of this document. Where differences exist 412 between LoRaWAN Link Layer specification revisions, they are highlighted in the text. 413 414 Where various attributes of a transmission signal are stated with regard to a region or 415 regulatory environment, this document is not intended to be an authoritative source of regional 416 governmental requirements or regulations and we refer the reader to the specific laws and 417 regulations of the country or region in which they desire to operate in order to obtain 418 authoritative information. 419 420 It must be noted here that, regardless of the parameters specified or configured, at no time is 421 any LoRaWAN equipment allowed to operate in a manner contrary to the prevailing local rules 422 and regulations where it is operating. It is the responsibility of the LoRaWAN end-device or 423 gateway to ensure that compliant operation is maintained without any outside assistance from 424 a LoRaWAN network or any other external mechanism. 425 426
