Dave's son Don B. ushered in the first wave of New Orleans hip hop, working with Mystikal, Cash Money, Lil Wayne, Mia X and Souljah Slim among others. His grandsons Blake, Chris, and Don Jr. (Trakka Beats, Sup Crew Y.C. and Supa Dezzy) make up the Bartholomew Boyz, who are on the cutting edge of the city's contemporary R&B and hip hop scene. Don B. is currently producing an album of unreleased tapes of his father's sessions that were thought to have been lost in the 2005 Katrina flood.
