SXSW 2014 Music & Media Conference | 17 SXAméricas Tuesday, March 11 - Wednesday, March 12 Various Locations Spotlighting the international creative stage, SXSW announces SXAméricas, a series of events geared to connect U.S. Latino and Latin American technology, music, and film industry thought leaders. SXAméricas will serve as the launch pad to network, share innovative ideas, and create new partnerships across all creative industries from North America, South America, Spain, and Central America. While the music industry changes and evolves, so does SXSW. Alongside the sprawling landscape, we consistently strive to create the most valuable and engaging experience for our attendees to learn, grow, and connect and to provide the tools to help navigate this ever-expanding event. The official online radio stream of SXSW is available at sxswfm.com and NEW for 2014 - download the mobile app for iOS or Android by visiting sxswfm.com/ mobile. Digital Music Lounge Sunday, March 9 - Wednesday, March 12 SXSW Trade Show, Austin Convention Center, Halls 3 & 4 The newest tech/music mash-up at the SXSW Trade Show, the Digital Music Lounge is an umbrella space for innovative companies targeting the digital music arena. Social Good Hub Social Good Hub Presented by The United Nations Foundation Monday, March 10, 9:00am - 6:00pm Bungalow - 92 Rainey St The SXSW Social Good Hub brings together digital creatives, entrepreneurs, filmmak- ers and other SXSW attendees focused on social change. Stop in to network with fellow registrants interested in the greater good or attend one of our special events throughout the day. Join us in the evening at 6pm for the SXeve Launch Party Presented by Change.org! Austin Music Awards Wednesday, March 12, 7:55pm - 12:00am Austin Convention Center, Austin Ballroom, Level 4 The annual ceremony honoring the best of the Austin music scene and hosted by the Austin Chronicle, is moving to a new location this year: Austin Ballroom on the 4th Level in the Austin Convention Center. Tribute to Lou Reed Friday, March 14. 7:00pm - 12:00 am Paramount Theatre, 713 Congress Ave SXSW will be hosting a tribute to the late Lou Reed with an all-star band to include musicians Richard Barone, Alejandro Escovedo, Lenny Kaye & Tony Shanahan of the Patti Smith Group, Clem Burke (Blondie), Ivan Julian, Marc Ribot, and more! Outdoor Stage Series Thursday, March 13 - Saturday, March 15 Butler Park at Lady Bird Lake This year, the outdoor stage series has moved to Butler park and expanded its footprint! International Music Delegate Meet and Greet Wednesday, March 12, 2:00pm - 4:00pm SXSW Trade Show Meet Up Pavilion, Austin Convention Center, Halls 3 & 4 This special networking event is an oppor- tunity for music labels, bookers and talent representatives to meet international music delegates from all corners of the globe. Music Hackathon Championship Wednesday, March 12 - Thursday, March 13, 2:00pm - 2:00pm (24 hour event) Hilton Austin, Salon D Introducing the first SXSW Music Hackathon Championship, where the best minds in music and technology come together to re-invent the music business for artists, bands, and fans. Winners will be honored at the Awards ceremony on Friday, March 14th. Shred Shed Thursday, March 13 - Saturday, March 15 SXSW Music Gear Expo, Austin Convention Center, Hall 5 Want to turn it up to 11? Visitors will get to crank it up in The Shred Shed, presented by Paul Reed Smith Guitars. It will be outfitted with two soundproof booths, amps and selections from several guitar companies on display. Guitarists can walk in, shut the door, plug in and shred away! JAY WEST JOJO MARION Renegade Craft Fair: SXSW Edition Thursday, March 13 - Saturday, March 15 12:00pm - 8:00pm daily Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd The Renegade Craft Fair (RCF) is a curated indie-craft marketplace showcasing the bright- est talents in contemporary craft and design. For the first year, RCF is partnering with South by Southwest to bring the indie craft move- ment to SXSW registrants and the public. This three-day marketplace will feature a range of exceptional artisans as well as workshops, demonstrations and special events.
