No.1
Michigan State receiver Tony
Lippett: Lippett was a beast,
not only because his seven catches went for 138
yards but because every single one produced
a first down. His only non-double-digit catch
was an eight-yarder on second-and-eight. His
24-yarder came on third-and-14, his 27-yarder on
second-and-25. Plus, he had a 39-yard TD.
MICHIGAN STATE 45, PURDUE 31 TOP PLAYERS
Tom Campbell
Purdue simply could not cover Tony Lippett, who had a
first down or a touchdown on all seven of his catches.
No.2
Michigan State running back Jeremy Lang-
ford: All of the Spartans' backs busted a 30-plus-
yard run, but Langford finished with a game-high 104 yards on
only 13 carries.
No.3
Purdue receiver Danny Anthrop: The Boiler-
makers schemed to get Anthrop the ball, and
it worked, as he grabbed a career-high nine catches and
had 133 yards.
No.4
Purdue running
back Akeem
Hunt: The senior was efficient, rush-
ing for 96 yards and three touchdowns
on only 12 carries, and his 52-yard score
early in the fourth quarter kept Purdue
believing in a comeback.
No.5
Michigan State quarter-
back Connor Cook: Cook
could have completed a higher percentage of
his passes — he was only 19-of-37 — but he
did throw three TDs and for 238 yards and run
for 34 on seven carries.
