Courtyard Austin Downtown: 300 East 4 th Street Rooms: Brazos I, Brazos II, Brazos III SXSW Interactive Mentor Sessions, which launched at the 2012 event, provides a forum for making valuable one-on-one connections that can take your career to the next level. Mentor Sessions allow registrants to participate in a seven-minute meeting with an industry veteran or insider. Typically these short meetings provide a great forum for the mentor to dispense important advice, guidance, counseling, and inspi- ration to their mentee. We recommend that you read the biographies of all the participating mentors before signing up for a particular sessions in order to find the person whose expertise and experience best matches the kind of knowledge you want to gain at the event. Remember, mentor slots fill up quickly and advanced sign up is encouraged via the online schedule or mobile app. Theme Features Mentor Session: Darlene Fiske Darlene Fiske, Owner, The Fiske Group Friday, March 13 // 5:00pm // Brazos I Darlene Fiske knows how to tell a story. And she wants to hear yours. She helps her clients manage their reputations through storytelling in print, online and in person. Prior to starting The Fiske Group, she directed the sales and marketing efforts at Lake Austin Spa Resort, targeting the elusive top one percent in the US. Mentor Session: Tim Varner Tim Varner, Founder, Roost Saturday, March 14 // 3:30pm // Brazos II Tim Varner is co-founder of Roost, the world's leading providing of push notifications for websites. Varner is passionate about encour- aging (potential) founders to actually start their startups, especially those founders whom come from emerging, but not yet established, technology ecosystems. When he isn't busy building Roost, he enjoys reading science fiction, hiking, and arguing in favor of GIFs as high art. Mentor Session: Asif Ramji Asif Ramji, President & CEO, Paymetric Sunday, March 15 // 9:30am // Brazos II Asif Ramji, Paymetric's President and CEO, has returned over $100M for his investors, partners and shareholders during his career. Under Ramji's leadership, Paymetric has become the global enterprise leader for cloud-based secure integrated payments and has experienced consecutive quarters of double-digit growth since 2009. He works side-by-side with creative teams to help them brainstorm in a tech-centric way, and has mentored for NYC BigApps, the R/GA Connected Devices Accelerator and multiple startups. Mentor Session: Michelle Phan Michelle Phan, Digital Pioneer Tuesday, March 17 // 11:00am // Brazos III Michelle Phan is a digital pioneer who trail blazed her way in the world of fashion and beauty on YouTube. With a growing global community of over 7.3 million subscribers, Michelle's videos have been viewed more than one billion times. In addition to her own channel on YouTube, Michelle also has created the ICON Network, a lifestyle network with original premium content for all millennials.
