Welcome to the 2015 SXSW Interactive Festival, where people from around the world come together and celebrate with us our core beliefs of creativity, innovation and inspiration. Over the next five days, we are thrilled and hon- ored to be able to provide a platform for over 800 sessions led by the world's industry leaders and endless networking opportunities. We encourage you to make the most of your SXSW experience by keeping these simple tips in mind: 1. Connect with as many people as possible during your time here at SXSW Interactive. 2. Explore connections and content that are outside of your comfort zone. 3. Learn by attending as many of the 800+ sessions as possible. 4. Follow up with the connections that you make at the event. 5. Most importantly, we encourage you to put that laptop or smartphone down and get some face-to-face time with your neighbor. Hugh Forrest, SXSW Interactive Director About this Book As the SXSW Interactive Festival evolves and grows, we are always chal- lenged to reinvent our approach and build the absolute best attendee experience. In an effort to accomplish this goal, we've made some improvements to our materials, including this guide, in order to create the best SXSW experience. Exhibitions and Events Sections SXSW Interactive is many things rolled into one, ranging from the SXSW Accelerator pitch event, to SX Create (a DIY, hacker and maker faire), to our new Health and MedTech Expo, to the SXSW Gaming programming and Expo. These sections lay out events that happen separate from our traditional daytime programming. SXSW Interactive Sessions Section For 2015, we have organized our sessions primarily by theme, a unifying idea and common thread, but in some instances by program format to help you find the content that interests you most. One of the strengths of our conference is the diversity of our programming. To this end, we've grouped our sessions, and this section of the book, by 15 topical themes and six different formats whose method of sharing ideas and information are especially unique.
