SX CREATE PRESENTED BY SILICON LABS // THE LONG CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS SXSW 2015 Interactive Festival 33 Welcome to SX Create 2015 Combining two previously unrelated things together and creating some- thing new is at the core of the maker movement. SX Create is a passionate celebration of these ideas and innovations. SX Create, presented by Silicon Labs, serves as the hands-on DIY, Maker, Hacker, Scientist arm of SXSW Interactive. Doing creative and revolutionary things with new technologies embodies the spirit of the SXSW Interactive Festival, and nowhere is this spirit more evident than in the diverse mix of activities at SX Create. From 3D printing to drones to bio-art and much more, this community event showcases the empowering, open source, shareable, do-it-yourself solutions that are shaping our future. SX Create comprises both a hands-on area known as the Creators Pavil- ion, as well as daily Meet Ups and Panel sessions in the West Pincer Lounge and West Pincer Terrace of the Long Center. An official part of SXSW Interactive since 2012, this event is free and open to the public. SX Create takes place March 13–15 from 11:00am–6:00pm at the Long Center Terrace (701 West Riverside Drive). Creators Pavilion The Creators Pavilion is located in the large tent on the City Terrace at the Long Center for the Perform- ing Arts. It is the can't-miss attraction of SX Create, and is filled with makers of all varieties sharing their products, innovations, and ideas. This is a hands-on educational experience for attendees of all ages, and is open to Makers of all ages. No badges are required. Sessions and Meet Ups Sessions with SX Create-themed topics will take place in the West Pincer Lounge on the Mezzanine Level of the Long Center for the Performing Arts. An array of maker topics will be discussed and shared daily by an exciting set of panelists. During Meet Ups on the Terrace of the West Pincer Lounge, you can join other attendees in informal ses- sions with interesting maker-related topics to learn, ask questions, or just to discuss and network.
