The Competition The SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards competition showcases the best and latest advancements in digital technology and the connected world. The annual SXSW Interactive Awards started in 1998, (originally called The Web Awards) and has continued to evolve and grow as a celebration of innovation, inspiration and creativity. This year, we've broadened the scope of the Awards to highlight innovation in the ever-widening variety of platforms, software, apps and devices. 2015 is SXSW Interactive's 18th annual award ceremony, and is the inaugural year as the newly reminted SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards. Awards Emcee: James Adomian The key to a great awards ceremony is a top-notch emcee. Over the years, SXSW Interactive has found some of the best talent around to host the ceremony. In keeping with that tradi- tion, we are extremely proud to have comedian and actor James Adomian host the SXSW 2015 Interactive Innovation Awards. Check out our previous hosts at sxsw.com/interactive/ awards/past-emcees.
