First came Kidulthood, then Adulthood, now Noel Clarke has
revealed that a third film, Brotherhood, is in the works, starring
none other than grime heavyweight Stormzy
Filiming for Brotherhood, the final instalment of Clarke's
trilogy, began in November in London. There are no plot details
currently available, the details are being kept tightly under
wraps. However, we do know that Clarke, who also directs the
films, will be reprising his lead role as Sam Peel, and will be
joined by Michael Omari (or Stormzy to you and I), who has kept
his involvement in the project very low key.
It's highly unlikely however, that Adam Deacon, who plays Jay,
will be recast as he has been banned from contacting Clarke
due to being found guilty of harrassment. This happened as a
result of Deacon sending the London-based director abusive
messages on social media after a disagreement over the hit
spoof film, Anuvahood, which he wrote, directed, and starred
in. He was subsequently sectioned under the Mental Health Act
in March.
If the third film is anything like its predecessors, we're in for a
treat! Both Adulthood and Kidulthood were loved by young
audiences and well received by older ones when they came out,
it's just a question of whether Clarke can deliver the same rough,
gritty drama which we've seen from him before!
