Festival Horoscope -

For you curious and optimistic Sagittarius folk -
Latitude will be the time of your life
The mecca for alternative music
and alternative spirits. No longer
purely known as 'Glastonbury's
Little Brother', Latitude has grown
over the past decade to become
the home of real hippie music
culture.
Set amongst the chilled-out
atmosphere of meadows and
streams in Sussex, this is about as
far away from headbanging mosh-
pits as you can get. Lose yourself
in the sounds of mellow music and
discover a whole different festival
experience.
A stellar line-up awaits for all you
seekers - Alt-J, James Blake, The
Manic Street Preachers, La Roux
and the Vaccines are just some of
the names lighting up the biggest
stages. Yet there's also the unkown
quantities that these curious types
will buzz off. Zachary Lucky, Mikee
Snooze, Izzy's Daughter - there's
more edge than a cliff face.
France's oldest electronic music festival returns with
another winter edition
Taking place across various art spaces
and venues in Brest, France, the 2016
edition of Astropolis will run from January
18th – 23rd. The festival programme
runs day to night, with documentary
screenings, Ableton masterclasses and
boat parties taking up the daytime
portion.
The festival really goes up a gear on the
22nd and 23rd, which is when most of
the headliners play. This year you can
catch Jeremy Underground and Portable
sharing the decks, a collaborative
performance from Carl Craig and
Francesco Tristano, and sets from Mount
Kimbie, Levon Vincent, D.K., Laurent
Garnier, Terrence Parker, Sonja Moonear,
Mind Against, Randomer and local artists
like Witxes and Raphael.
With a line-up like that, consider the
January blues well and truly banished.
