But there's no doubt, we want to get guys pressing the ball vertical and getting a return game. "And we feel like we have two or three guys that we're going to try out, and maybe more." The primary options in the spring were Allen, who has the athleticism but hasn't shown a consistent enough ability to catch, and Frankie Williams. But Mostert could be an option, too, or fellow receiver Danny Anthrop, who was injured during the spring but should get a chance in practice this fall. "You've got to have a special guy back there, no doubt," Parker said. "But we've got to do a good job of holding up, going to block punts and being sound in our block to be able to free up that guy to allow him to get vertical." It's another avenue in which Hazell would like to see the Boilermakers have an edge. "Our special teams this year will determine at least three games, if not more," Hazell said.
