But judging from her production the first two games, she's not looking very rusty. In the two games she's played for the Boilermakers following her transfer from Maryland a year ago, the 6-foot-2 forward has totaled 26 points on 9-of-17 shooting with 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. "She's getting that feel of the game back, she's understanding things," Coach Sharon Versyp said. "She's excited. She brings a passion and love and a little bit of a swagger down low. I'm really pleased with her. She's going to keep going." Bays is coming off the bench for the Boilermakers, as Versyp tries to ease the junior back into drive it and gives them some versatility," said IUPUI coach Austin Parkinson, whose team lost to Purdue on Wednesday, with Bays scoring 13 with four rebounds. Bays says she likes coming off the bench. It gives her an opportunity to judge how the officials are calling the game and figure out where she can best make an impact. "I just try to bring energy and contribute in any way I can, whether it's on the boards, putting up shots, running the floor, defending," she said. Clemons Endures Tragedy Liza Clemons has endured a personal tragedy to start this season, as her longtime boyfriend and fiancé was killed in early October in Fort Wayne. On Oct. 4, Johnny Lee (Jay) Upshaw, was killed at his apartment in Fort Wayne. He was 21. "It still is extremely painful," Versyp said. "It's hard to even put into words. … It's very difficult losing your fiancé, losing your future. We're managing and making sure we get any type of assistance that we need.
