Olympic Sports athlete-of-the-Week: danny tucker Senior swimmer Danny Tucker helped lead Purdue to a pair of dual victories with two individual wins and two strong relay performances. A year after qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the 50 and 100 freestyle, Tucker continues to excel in the events and added wins in both at the November Quad. Tucker also performed well in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays where the Boilers finished third and second, respectively. Tucker has now won the 50 and 100 freestyle events in all three meets this season and will look to extend his winning streak this weekend at the Minnesota Grand Prix. — Brandan Alford ing to enjoy this group." Danny Tucker and Guillermo Blanco led the men's team with a pair of individual wins each as the Boilers defeated Iowa and Northwestern while falling to Ohio State. On the women's side, Casey Matthews, Carly Mercer and Francesca Marr each registered two wins in victories over Northwestern and Ohio State. Tucker swept the freestyle spring events while Blanco took home the 200 butterfly and 200 individual medley events. Matthews won both diving competitions, Mercer swept the 100- and 200 butterfly events and Marr took first in the 100and 200 breaststroke. 149 pounds with a 3-2 record. The Boilermakers open their dual match schedule this weekend when they host Duke on Saturday at 2 p.m. Again, Purdue will face one of the nation's toughest schedules in 2013-14 as the Big Ten boasts eight of the top 14 teams in the nation, including each of the top three.
