GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 1 • 29 and numerous others. Brunk, from Southport High School, holds of- fers from Michigan State, Xavier, IU, Oklahoma and several others. Additionally, the camp includ- ed visits from several top 2017 re- cruits, notably in-state players Kris Wilkes, Paul Scruggs and Jaren Jack- son. Each of them will be heavily, heavily recruited. Purdue offered scholarships to three players based off their camp performances. Nick Ward, a Class of 2016 pow- er forward from near Columbus, Ohio, added Purdue to existing of- fers from Michigan State, Missouri, Miami (Fla.). "It's one of my highest ones," Ward said, shortly after receiving the offer. "I love the school. It's a big school. I love the practice court they have and the facilities, the staff and everything." Purdue also offered Class of 2017 prospects Nojel Eastern and Xavier Tillman. Eastern is a shooting guard from Evanston, Ill., who also al - ready has been offered by Illinois. Tillman is an energetic and ver- satile power forward who listed Michigan, Michigan State, Duke and Syracuse among those also in- terested in him early. CLINE RANKED IN TOP 150 Purdue 2015 commitment Ryan Cline came in at No. 147 nationally by Ri- vals.com in its post- summer top-150 rankings. Remaining Boil- ermaker targets Jalen Brunson and Caleb Swanigan are ranked 15th and 16th na- tionally, respectively. Brunson will of- ficially visit Purdue the weekend of Sept. 27 for the Big Ten football opener against Iowa. Brunson, who'll also officially visit Illinois, Villanova, Temple and Michigan State, has said his long- standing relationship with Purdue has given it a chance. That, and other factors. "It's just the opportunity they have," Brunson said. "They don't guarantee you anything, but they say, 'You'd have a big opportunity to come in right away and help us.' (Matt Painter's) said that from the very beginning, not just in the last year, but ever since he offered me." Swanigan is expected to make unofficial visits in coming months and could postpone a decision 'til the spring after re - classifying up a year from the 2016 class to 2015, essentially cutting a whole cal- endar year out of his recruiting process. VISIT NEWS S Indianapo- lis 2016 guard Kyle Guy, a top Purdue junior-to-be target, will unofficially visit the weekend of Sept. 20 along with former AAU teammates and Boilermaker 2015 commits Cline and Grant Weather- ford, who'll be making their official visits that weekend. R Purdue's first official visit of the football season might be New York defensive lineman Austrian Robinson, a highly recruited Ri- vals.com three-star prospect who's locked in for a visit for the Sept. 20 Southern Illinois game. R This weekend's football opener is not expected to be a big visit weekend for either football or basketball.
