GoldanDBlack express • volume 25, express 2 • 28 BY STACY CLARDIE SClardie@GoldandBlack.com C ameron Posey found out a week, maybe two, before Purdue's season opener that he wouldn't be playing in it. An "off-field is- sue" got him sus- pended. Posey wouldn't reveal what it was Wednesday — "I just violated team rules," he said — but he said he's moving forward and eager to get back on the field for the Boiler- makers in Week 2. "It was tough," said Posey, who'd returned for train- ing camp less than six months after ACL surgery. "Com- ing out here for two-a-days and get- ting back here in time to do that and prepare for the first game, I was excited. So it was a letdown for sure. But we'll focus on this week, and I'm ready to get out there this week with the team." Posey could have a big week in his return. Purdue expects Central Mich- igan to play a significant amount of zone coverage, and Posey works well against such defenses. He'll get a chance to show it from the first snap, too, as Darrell Ha- zell said on Tuesday that Posey will start the game. "We really like Cameron in the slot," Hazell said. "He does a great job of finding those holes and sitting down." Posey in the starting lineup could mean B.J.
