SOCCER DEFEATS BALL STATE, SIU EDWARDSVILLE The Purdue soccer team won a pair of games to improve to 3-1 on the year. Maddy Williams and Soraya Top- pin-Herbert scored goals just two and half minutes apart in the second half to lift Purdue to a 2-0 win over Ball State Friday. All-American Matthew Mc- Clintock led the squad with a third- place individual finish, completing the 5,000-meter race in 15:11:13. Kiara McIntosh was the top finisher on the women's side, cap- turing 22nd place with a time of 18:30.06. The Boilermakers are off for two weekends before hosting the Indiana Intercollegiates on Sept. 19. j
