"I'm pretty comfortable with them," Walker said of the Boilermak- ers. "Going through the recruiting process, I felt like they've always told me the truth and not just what I want to hear. They've shown me that if that's where I want to go and that's the right place for me, I can be successful there." Walker was the point guard and a critical contributor for the senior-heavy Tech team that won Indiana's 4A title last winter and was one of the top high school teams in the country. BASKETBALL RECRUITS Tuesday marked the first day college coaches could go off cam- pus to recruit, whether it be for eval- uation purposes or in-home visits. Some notes on Purdue's activ- ity so far. S The entire staff was present for 2016 target Kyle Guy Tuesday morning before heading to Tech to see Walker. Guy is one of Purdue's prime 2016 targets and will visit unoffi- cially Sept. 20. The Lawrence Central guard's also been offered by Butler, Indiana, N.C. State, Xavier, Iowa, Missouri and several others. S Painter and assistant coach Greg Gary went to Huntington, W. Va., to watch four-star power forward Ted Kapita, who's ranked 36th nationally in the 2015 class by Rivals.com. S Purdue has an in-home visit scheduled with five-star Fort Wayne big man Caleb Swanigan for next week. Those who met with Swanigan this week included Michigan State, Pitt, Missouri, California and Iowa. S Painter saw 2016 big man target Barret Benson in Chicago Wednesday morning. S Gary and Painter traveled to Florida Tuesday to see 7-5 center Tacko Fall, who holds a Purdue of - fer. Fall will make his first official visit this weekend, to Vanderbilt. BRUNSON TO 'NOvA Five-star point guard Jalen Brunson, who'd given Purdue a spot in his final five choices and lined up an official visit for the end of the month, announced Wednesday af- ternoon that he's committed to Vil- lanova after narrowing his list to just the Wildcats and Illinois. COMMITMENT TRACKER R Quarterback Elijah Sinde- lar: In a 72-27 win over Ohio Coun- ty, the Caldwell County (Ky.) QB completed 8-of-13 passes for 162 yards and six touchdowns before leaving the game early due to the one-sided score. R Running back Markell Jones: The Columbus East running back carried 10 times for 207 yards and four first-quarter touchdowns in his team's 61-6 win over Seymour. R Running back Richard Wor- ship: Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights, Ohio, lost to Revere 28-14, with Worship running for touchdowns of 67 and five yards. He also had an interception return for a TD called back by penalty. R Linebacker Wyatt Cook: McDonogh High School in Pomfret, Md., lost 31-18 to St. Joseph's Re- gional of New Jersey, with Cook making eight tackles with a sack. R Running back Tario Fuller: Lanier High School (Ga.) beat Clarke Central 35-20, with Fuller running for a pair of two-yard touchdowns. He totaled 103 yards. R Linebacker Markus Bailey: Hilliard (Ohio) Davidson beat Darby 10-0, with Bailey making 18 tackles on defense and running for a short touchdown on offense. R Safety Andy Chelf: Southlake (Texas) Carroll beat national power Tulsa Union 42-41 by faking a PAT and scoring a two-point conversion in overtime. Chelf made 17 tackles. R Cornerback Isaac War - ren: John Tyler High School beat Longview 41-25. Warren made eight tackles and returned a fumble 59 yards for a touchdown. j Purdue offered Indianapolis Tech junior point guard C.J. Walker a scholarship Tuesday.
