GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 10 • 31 BY GOLD AND BLACK STAFF P urdue's two-deep at receiver against No. 25 Wis- consin for Saturday will include a player who hasn't gotten a single offensive snap this season, a redshirt freshman who has only played in one game on offense and a true freshman who hasn't gotten double-digits snaps in a single game this year. And the starters are a pair of sophomores in DeAngelo Yancey and Cameron Posey, neither of whom has shown consistent production this season. "There's a lot of guys who have to grow up pretty quickly," Coach Darrell Hazell said. The shakeup comes after leading receiver Danny Anthrop tore the ACL in his right knee on a punt re- turn against Nebraska. He was Purdue's starting slot receiver and its most productive with 38 catches for 616 yards and four touchdowns this season. Without him, the Boilermakers are sliding Posey inside to the inside receiver position and will have ju- nior Shane Mikesky as Posey's backup. Mikesky hasn't played an offensive snap all season after starting sev- en games last year. At the "Z" receiver position — the one Posey is vacating — freshman Trae Hart will get an opportu- nity because Hazell said he has "pop," the potential to make big plays for an offense that already is down two of its more capable receivers in Anthrop and B.J. Knauf (collarbone). Players can qualify for the list, which was originated from Hazell's decree of "A Players Must Get A's" by getting a 3.0 average or better for the semester. The Boilermakers had 40 players make the list in the fall. The team posted a 2.78 GPA for the spring, up from a 2.65 in the fall, and improved its cumulative GPA to 2.77, up from 2.75 prior to the spring semester. It is the highest team GPA for football in at least 20 years. Tom Campbell Danny Anthrop's loss is a significant one for Purdue's offense. He was the team's leading receiver and a rare playmaker.
