GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 10 • 36 before being knocked out of bowl consideration. Both teams also have favorable schedules the rest of the way that include only one ranked team apiece. Last Saturday, the Wildcats dropped their third straight con- test in a 48-7 blowout loss at Iowa. Before the first quarter ended, the Hawkeyes were already well in control with a 24-0 lead. The Northwestern defense allowed the most points it had all season while the offense contributed a season-low seven points. Senior quarterback Trevor Si- emian managed to complete only eight passes for 68 yards with no touchdowns. The Wild- cats' lone score came from standout fresh- man running back Justin Jackson, who recorded 96 yards. Northwestern's of- fense is really laboring ranking 116th nationally (19.1 ppg.) The Wildcats also had a punt blocked and returned for a touch- down. Nov. 29, at Indiana The Hoosiers seek their first conference victory with a home matchup against strug- gling Penn State. Indiana (3-4, 0-4) defeated Penn State (4- 4, 1-4) for the first time ever last season and will need to replicate last year's effort if it wants to stay alive for a bowl berth. The Hoosiers will rely on the legs of Tevin Coleman, who re- mains the only rusher in college football to run for 100 yards in every single game in 2014. The Nittany Lions are second-best in the conference against the run (104.2 yards per game in league games). Last weekend, the Hoosiers fell to Michigan 34-10 in Ann Arbor. Coleman contributed 108 yards but failed to reach the end zone for the second straight outing. IU's passing game did not provide any help as quarterback Zander Diamont was held to 24 passing yards on five comple - tions. Over the last eight quar- ters, Diamont has thrown for a mere 35 yards while opponents have outscored he and IU 90-27 in that same period. In addition, the Hoosier de- fense was torn apart by Michi- gan's Devin Gardner and Drake Johnson, who both put up sea- son highs in passing (220) and rushing (122), respectively. j ON TAP SATURDAY Game Time (ET) TV Line Penn State at Indiana Noon BTN PSU -7 Iowa at Minnesota Noon ESPN2 Iowa -2 No. 25 Wisconsin at PURDUE Noon ESPNU Wisconsin -17 Michigan at Northwestern 3:30 p.m. ESPN2 Even No. 13 Ohio State at No. 7 Michigan State 8 p.m. ABC MSU -3.5 All times ET BYE: Illinois, Maryland, Nebraska, Rutgers Source: DannySheridan.com BIG TEN STANDINGS EAST DIVISION Big Ten/Pct.
